VENUE ACCESS INFORMATION AND ACCESS STATEMENT FOR DISABLED VISITOR

Introduction

The Booking Hall is an indoor music venue, set in Dover Port and is one of Kent’s newest Independent venues.

We offer a warm welcome to everyone and aim to offer an excellent level of service to all our customers. We really want you to enjoy your time with us so if anything happens while you are at The Booking Hall, please speak to one of our staff and ask to speak to the Duty Manager who will deal with your queries as best they can.

The Venue

The Booking Hall is set in a disused train station with a standing capacity of 300. The Venue is fully standing. It must be noted these are maximums and minimum be reduced depending on the type of event, audience profile expected and also staff and artist requirements.

Car Parking

Unfortunately there is no on-site parking at the venue. If you follow the road round on Elizabeth Street, you are likely to find a number of spaces on the flyover. There are also parking spaces at the nearby Cruise Terminal and De Bradelei Wharf. If you can find anywhere closer then please use the spaces you find but there an abundance of spaces at both. Please read signs where you choose to park - there are private spaces in the vicinity. Please do not obstruct neighbouring businesses. Normal parking rules apply - wardens do patrol the area.

Public Transport and Drop Off

The Booking hall has a dedicated Taxi drop off point on site close to the main entrance. Public Transport – The Venue has good public transport links. There is a bus stop 200 yards from the venue main entrance ( please see www.stagecoachbus.com/timetables for further information) Closest train station to The Booking Hall is Dover Priory (20 min walk) There is a high speed link to London from this station via Folkestone (55 mins – Folkestone to London St Pancras) Dover Priory links directly to Folkestone (10 mins) and Ashford (25 mins) and Deal (20 mins) Please see www.nationalrail.co.uk for further information.

Building Entrance

The Booking Hall main entrance is two large inward opening doors with two steps leading up to it. There is a separate entrance that is wheelchair accessible. If you have any special access requirements please let us know in advance.

Getting Around

Once inside the building there is level access through-out

Entry

All bags and large coats are searched on entry. We can arrange early entry for disabled guests as it could be helpful to familiarise yourself with the building before you attend an event.

Venue Plans

Standard and large print plans of the Venue are available on request.

Assistance Dogs

We welcome assistance dogs and a bowl of water can be provided if requested.

Accessible Toilets

The Booking Hall has disabled toilets on site. They are separate from the main toilets and are accessible via a level corridor. We have additional staff to assist with the access of the disabled toilets.

Fire Alarm

The Booking hall has both audible and visual alarms. A member of staff will assist in the event of a fire alarm.

Bar

There is a low level serving point with a knee recess design for wheel chair users at The Booking Hall.

Access Statement

Carer tickets 

Carer tickets are free, all we require is a email bookinghalldover@outlook.com stating your name, show you are attending and that you require a free carer ticket. For disabled tickets please buy a standard ticket.
